Excuse me,

do you know what it's like when you see someone you've been trying to work up the courage to talk to all night head for the door?

It's now
or never.

Maybe I don't tick all the boxes (just yet) that your mother told you to look for, but I think we'd be great together. So I'm coming over, tapping you on the shoulder, and saying,

I like you.

I like your attitude, your sense of style; you seem like the whole package. I don't say that to everyone, and I promise I'm about working my butt off—not kissing yours.

Cheers to saying yes!

What have I
been doing
with my life?

Why you?

I want to surround myself with a group of kind, talented people hungry to do the best work. I'm not looking to job-hop and climb the career ladder. I want to settle in somewhere that will invest in me so that I can invest in them. My van "Brutus" and I are willing to go wherever we need to find that.

What happens now?

You call your coworker over...

"Hey Chuck, check out this ridiculous thing."

"Did he really use Times New Roman? Who is this guy?"

"Don't know: seems like he wants to work here pretty bad. Might be a little inexperienced though."

Fortunately, Chuck likes my hustle...

"Maybe, but he's been working at a pretty dope agency and shows solid design thinking."

You hesitate...

"Yeah...I guess"

"Looks like he's a quick learner too, and I bet he's willing to put in the extra time to make up for what he lacks."

Damn Chuck is insightful.
Listen to Chuck.

Bet on me.

I wear my heart on my sleeve and believe we have a lot to offer each other. Let's talk about how I can prove myself and leave y'all hanging onto your butts.

My elevator pitch?

I think design changes the world, the internet changes design, and understanding why and how products are built for it is crucial to making an impact with it. I am a maker who appreciates an underdog with a "never say die" attitude.

My elevator pitch?

I am a perennial believer in the underdog and equal parts idealistic and pragmatic. I believe design changes the world, the internet changes design, and understanding why and how products are built for it is crucial to making an impact with it.

You hesitate...

"Yeah...I guess"

"Seems pretty relentless. I get the feeling this would be more than just a job to him."

Damn Chuck is insightful.

Bet on me.
